Avenue Of Life by Sabita Dangol

Every second, women, girls, and elderly women worldwide are haunted by the fear of rape or let’s say the fear of losing what they have to offer society. Therefor I was concerned about this issue and I started questioning myself that when will this end? What will be the solution? That’s why I wanted to convey this message to people around the world through my performance.

I used Jhul and a watermelon and Knife.

Jhul (Net):           People use nets to protect themselves from mosquito and insects just like that I used Jhul (Net) as a metaphor to box like room. Through this I want to represent women’s effort to safeguard themselves from the societal pessimism.

Watermelon:     Watermelon symbolize the a male figure and societal pessimism, which is by the side of Jhul (Net). From this I want emphasize that women feel unsafe not only outside the home but also within their own living space.

Knife:    Knife represent and reminder of the consequences and punishment that awaits those who commit crime
